Bowl-Bots Wednesday Night League Stats and Commentary
Week 14 08-19-2009: The Summer season is now over. Pete-Bot, Clutch and XJ7 closed us out with 5/7 points. We ended up in 6th place (9th place if you count all the ties). Not a bad night. Clutch had his spare pick up working well. It was an ok season. Obviously not as successful as when Clutch was captain. So, now onto bigger and better activites...what will be first post bowling activity? Rockets? |
Week 13 08-12-2009: Again, 5/7 points were won. Pete-Bot was so awesome with 247, 136, 206 games. The 247 ended with a 6 pack. He even threw 3 in a row to beat out Clutch in the last game and to avoid paying him 10 dollars. In the last game he was perfect with 5 strikes on lane 30. Next week is our last night bowling for awhile. The Bots are taking a mental health break, but will start up some new distractions to the soul crushing experience they call life. |
| Week 12 08-05-2009: 5/7 points were won. Pete-Bot did not win the raffle. The lights were not on. We blew a possible shut out. We are running on empty, we care more about rockets than bowling. Two weeks left. How are we going to leave our mark on this bowling league establishment. Rent a locker and put a stink fish in it? Cover all house balls with vasoline? Walk out wearing house shoes? Bowl with poo-pants in the final week? I feel dizzy... |
| Week 11 07-29-2009: Bots only took 2/7 this week. It seems that we are not very good. There was free food and beer provided by XJ7. The level of 'wanting it' has dropped off severely since the summer league started. I blame the music television. Three weeks left, eh, whatever. |
| Week 10 07-22-2009: Post XJ7's birthday was a recovery night for the Bots. We played the Rupp's Rollers (aka Wrigleyville Rollers). We only won 2/7 points. We bowled ok, but they were better. Pete-Bot had 3 games in the 190s. Pete-Bot also make Clutch sell the 50/50 raffle tickets. Clutch sold ~$60.00 of those stupid things. Even Pete-Bot bought a dollars worth...and won the raffle for the second time this season!!! Shenanigans? |
Week 10 07-21-2009: Happy Birthday Xavier Jackson the 7th!!!
|
Week 9 07-15-2009: When the captain is away, some Bowl-Bots will stray. From what I can tell the Pete-Botless Bots only won 2/7 points. It looks like some good games were put up by the Y chromosome having members of the team. The XX member..not so much. Late? 106? 107? So stinky! Lady Bowl-Bot is all smack talk on the Facebook, but out on the lanes is a different story. Some nice symmetry with the 2x 180's 2x 200's and 2x 156's. Extra update: a little bird told me gutters were thrown and 2 members who live close by were late for the match. Clutch and XJ7 are now on probation. |
Week 8 07-08-2009: Again, we won 5/7 points and the winning streak keeps going. T-Bot had a rough start, but did well. XJ7 (gold star) and Clutch had some solid games as well. It wasn't our best night ever, but enough to keep gaining on first place. For some reason the air conditioning was off so it was a hot night. In more important news Pete-Bot won $25.00 in the Wed night raffle!!! |
Week 7 07-01-2009: We won 5/7 and kept our winning streak going. Pete-Bot rolled a 244 in the first game. Lady Bowl-Bot missed the first game, but we still won. Things seem to be back on track. Hopefully we can keep on winning and move up in the standings. The Bowl-Bots are currently in 8th place. The season is halfway over. Let's try to finish in the top 3! |
Week 6 06-24-2009: Does anyone even care anymore? Only 3 of 4 Bowl-Bots bowled Wed night (T-Bot was sick). We used an absent score for Lady Bowl-Bot. Only 1 of the 3 active Bowl-Bots was actually there for the start of the match. The other 2 didn't even get in a single practice frame. A certain Bowl-Bot tossed a gutter ball on his first throw of the night, followed by at least 4-5 more that night. By a miracle and an off night by the other team we took 5/7 points. We won the first game by a single pin. At one point Clutch owed the kitty $12.50 because of gutter balls. He wiped the debt clean with a 2nd game score that beat his first game, but then still threw 2 more gutters! (Clutch debt = $10.00). Do we even still want to bowl anymore? |
| Week 5 06-17-2009: Finally, we got our win on! Der Bots took 5/7 of points from the first place team. Special guest Kirsten rooted us on all night. Heartburn from a rancid Bowl America pizza caused Lady Bowl-Bot to throw a 95 in the first game. After a trip to the bathroom she felt better and threw a 164 in the last game. Clutch and Pete-Bot both had 500 (521/511) series. Finally back on track! |
Week 4 06-10-2009: It is now official, we suck. In week 4 the Bowl-Bots failed to win even one point. We lost the first game by a single pin. We are now in 11th place. Our record is W-10 L-18. We have not won a point since Week 2 (May 27th). I had to resort to placing a 25 cent penalty on open frames in order to get some people to focus on the game. The following things need to happen and will happen:
You wanna play like losers? Fine. Here is a clip of Louie Anderson, that is what losers get for losing! |
Week 3 06-03-2009: Spanked. Spanked like a bunch of Bowl-Bot babies. Can't sit down because of the spanking. Should have brought diapers and bottles to BA Wednesday night cause we needed to be changed. We didn't bowl so bad, but Steve Miller and the gang were unstoppable. 0/7 points were earned (or not earned). We need to regroup with thrice daily practices, egg white omelets, only 11 weeks left... We are now in ~8th place. 9 points out of 1st. Our scores were good, but not good enough! |
Week 2.5 06-01-2009: A weekend brunch was enjoyed by all the Bowl-Bots, plus a couple of friends. The big money and patches were handed out last Thursday thereby ending the Thursday Late Night Strikers experience. How will all the winning be spent? New shirts, new balls, new bags? Now we can focus all of our energy on dominating the Wed night league... |
Week 2 05-27-2009: XJ7 was too busy for his team, so trusty T-Bot filled in again. Lady Bowl-Bot had her first game back in the summer league and loved it. She was whipping the ball all over the lanes. I believe all our averages are set and we should be ready to go. Take a look below, Clutch and XJ7 both have a 145 average and a girl(!) (LBB) has a 152 average. How embarassing for them and their families. We only won 5/7 points. Bowling in a high handicap league is going to be a challenge. We are currently in 2nd place. As a side note Pete-Bot had a 214 game and Clutch threw 2 first ball gutters... |
Week 1 & Week 35: The Reign of Terror is just about over! There is a new Bowl-Bot Captain and he is wonderful. In my tenure I can guarantee you official shirts, multiple parties, and I won't let you down in your time of need. There was even free beer provided last night! Although I will be a benevolent leader, I will be demanding. Here are my cabinet positions: Last night was the first night of the Summer League...yea!!! Very fun, very relaxing. We showed up late, missing most of the meeting (which was great). Someone did comment "Aren't you the four guys who never bowled before from last summer?...hmmm mmmm" - not happy. Steve Miller was looking for "The Fox". I told him she would be there next week. Could this be the summer that LBB finds love? See you all tonight at Bowl America for the final positional round of the Thursday night league. Whatever happens, let us go out with style (I'm thinking something like... |
